Hints used on puzzles you've won.
The Hoop Test is a free daily NBA guessing game. Every day, one mystery player is chosen, and you get up to 8 hints — Career PPG, College Career, Draft, Position, Teams, Accolades, Nickname, and Number — always revealed in that same order. You don't have to use them all: the fewer hints you need, the higher your score, from 100 points on a single hint down to 15 points if you need all eight. You also get three wrong guesses per round, so guess carefully.
A new player is chosen automatically each day, spanning decades of NBA history — from 1950s and '60s legends like Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain, through the Showtime Lakers and Bad Boys Pistons eras, all the way to today's stars like Anthony Edwards and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Yes — the puzzle changes automatically each day, and it's the same player for everyone playing that day.
No. You can guess at any point. Using fewer hints earns a higher score, so it pays to guess early if you're confident.
You get three wrong guesses per puzzle. Use them all up and the round ends — the answer is revealed, and you can come back the next day for a new player.
Yes — your daily result and streak are saved right in your browser, so revisiting the site later will show your progress where you left it.
Anyone who likes basketball trivia, from casual fans to hardcore NBA historians. The difficulty scales naturally, since the first hint is always the vaguest and later ones get progressively more specific.
